in 1992, convinced that people with mental health issues were being let down by the quality of services available at the time, and with a belief that she could offer care and support in new innovative ways, JANET BARLOW opened her first small home in Barnsley with just three residents. Nurse trained and with 29 years experience in care she was joined in 2006 by her son ANDY BARLOW (RMN), a mental health professional.

 

The proud family business has since continued to develop and expanded to provide bespoke, specialist mental health residential services and community recovery across Barnsley.

Despite this transformation and growth, the dignity and respect that Janet first provided is still firmly at the heart of everything we do.

 

Using our family model approach, which focuses on the individual not the diagnosis, every client is encouraged to attain their maximum independence in a safe and nurturing environment.
